The Founder
Yajna Rabbipal is a passionate and highly experienced speech-language therapist whose work is driven by a simple but powerful belief: communication and feeding are cornerstones of quality of life. With almost a decade of experience across both pediatric and adult populations, Yajna combines deep clinical expertise with genuine care, ensuring every client feels understood, supported, and empowered.
- Yajna graduated in 2016 from the University of Cape Town (UCT) with a BSc in Speech-Language Pathology. She then completed her internship service year at 3 Military Hospital and Universitas in Bloemfontein, where she managed a diverse caseload across hospital and outpatient settings. This invaluable year exposed her to a wide spectrum of conditions, including:
- Neurodiversity in children (autism, ADHD, developmental language disorders)
- Neonatal and early feeding challenges in premature and medically fragile infants
- Neurological conditions in adults, such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, and motor neuron disease
- Speech, language, and swallowing rehabilitation for patients with head and neck cancer, tracheostomy, and laryngectomy
- Voice disorders, stuttering, and AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) interventions
This breadth of experience laid the foundation for her holistic approach, equipping her to work confidently across the lifespan and in multidisciplinary teams.
Recognizing the importance of specialized knowledge, Yajna pursued her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at the University of Cape Town (UCT) , focusing on neonatal and pediatric feeding. Her research and clinical work deepened her expertise in early intervention, helping infants and young children build the critical skills needed for growth, development, and connection with their families
Experience History
For five years, Yajna served as a lecturer and clinical advisor at the University of Cape Town. In this dual role, she taught undergraduate courses, supervised clinical placements, and mentored future therapists. This academic experience sharpened her ability to integrate cutting-edge research with practical, client-centered care, ensuring her clinical skills remain grounded in the latest evidence. Teaching also broadened her perspective—reinforcing her ability to explain complex ideas in clear, accessible ways for both students and clients.
Alongside her academic role, Yajna worked extensively in private practice across Cape Town, treating adults with aphasia, motor speech disorders, dysphagia, cognitive-communication impairments, and voice difficulties. Supporting both children and adults gave her a rare opportunity to see the continuum of communication and feeding needs across different stages of life.
In 2023, drawing on this rich blend of clinical, academic, and private practice experience, Yajna founded Yajna Rabbipal Speech Therapy. Located in Blouberg and serving surrounding areas, the practice was born out of her desire to give back to her community and make high-quality speech therapy accessible in a warm, welcoming space.
At the heart of her work lies the conviction that therapy is not only about treating symptoms—it is about restoring independence, building confidence, and strengthening relationships. Whether she is supporting a toddler learning their first words, guiding a child through feeding challenges, or helping an adult reclaim their voice after illness, Yajna approaches every client with empathy, patience, and unwavering commitment.
Today, Yajna continues to bring her extensive training, clinical insight, and heartfelt dedication to every family she works with, ensuring that each individual has the opportunity to be heard, understood, and connected.
