Kelly Harvey

Speech-Language Pathologist

I believe that communication and feeding are at the heart of connection and quality of life. Every person, regardless of age or ability, deserves to be heard, understood, and supported in expressing themselves meaningfully. I view both communication and feeding as deeply relational processes that bring families together, supporting social, emotional, and physical wellbeing.

My approach is family-centred, evidence-informed, and grounded in play, movement, and sensory exploration. I strive to create therapy environments that feel safe, nurturing, and responsive to each individual’s needs. Each session is designed to empower children and families through practical strategies, joyful interaction, and a focus on real-life progress that extends beyond the therapy room.

Kelly has a special interest in early communication, feeding, and neurodevelopment, particularly within the infant and preschool population. She is passionate about supporting children with a variety of speech, language, and feeding needs in a way that honours their individuality and promotes meaningful growth.

Her therapy approach is collaborative and relationship-driven, working closely with parents, teachers, and other professionals to ensure that communication and feeding goals are integrated naturally into daily life. She draws from evidence-based frameworks such as DIR Floortime, Hanen principles, and neurodevelopmental supportive care, adapting each session to reflect the child’s strengths, interests, and sensory profile.

Kelly’s clinical experience includes supporting children with speech sound disorders, developmental language delays, feeding and swallowing difficulties, and neurodiverse communication profiles. She also works with adults experiencing communication and swallowing challenges following neurological conditions such as stroke or traumatic brain injury, with a focus on restoring confidence, independence, and quality of life.
